Freeze Co manufactures a variety of chiller configurations,
including outdoor chillers. Heat can be rejected outdoors
using three primary methods.
Evaporative Cooled Systems
Heat is rejected using evaporative cooling towers and
water is typically circulated through condensers which
are installed indoors. An alternative is the use of
evaporative condensers which use evaporating water sprayed
over refrigerant lines that are run to the tower cell.
Split Chiller Systems
Split systems are comprised anytime the chiller compressor
and evaporator are separated from the condenser, which
is typically installed outdoors or on rooftops.
Self-Contained Chillers
A cost effective solution is to design the chiller with
all components outdoors, including tanks, pumps and
controls and circulate a glycol solution in the process
piping.
